About

The Valley High School Marching Band, known as the Valley Indian Marching Band, is a vibrant and integral part of the Valley Local School District in Lucasville, Ohio. Open to students from grades 7 through 12, the band fosters musical growth and teamwork among its members. Under the direction of Mr. Tyler Payne, the ensemble has achieved notable success, including being named Divisional Grand Champion at a Class 2A competition in Huntington, West Virginia, where they also earned top honors in Overall Color Guard, Visual, and General Effect categories .The Valley Indian Marching Band has received Superior Ratings in 2019 and 2023 qualifying them for the Ohio Music Educators Association State Marching Band Finals.  

Beyond competitions, the band actively engages with the community through events like the annual Lucasville Valley Band Competition. Along with local events the Indian Marching Band has participated in national events, including performances at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. The program also emphasizes inclusivity and skill development, offering drumline clinics and auditions to students from 6th to 12th grade, aiming to build a comprehensive percussion section for each marching season. With a commitment to excellence and community involvement, the Valley High School Marching Band continues to be a source of pride and spirit for the Lucasville area
